2008 Second Annual Wolverine Rangers COWBOY SINGLE SHOT RIFLE SHORT RANGE STATE CHAMPIONSHIP July 20, 2008 At the Detroit Sportsmen’s Congress RIFLES- Any safe original or reproduction breech loading single shot rifle chambered in an original cowboy era cartridge. Any safe original or reproduction rifle caliber lever action rifle (30-30’s OK). BULLETS- Lead, no gas checks. SIGHTS- Original type vernier rear and aperture front, or open barrel sights. Scope class: ¾ inch scope with period mounts. PROPELLANT- Any safe black powder or smokeless load. COURSE OF FIRE- We have a covered range. We shoot rain or shine. Stage 1 200 yds. 15 shots off hand. Stage 2 200 yds. 15 shots sitting or kneeling from x-sticks. Stage 3 200 yds. 15 shots prone from x-sticks or front rest. Each stage lasts 15 minutes. Target SR-42. REGISTRATION– 10:00 – 11:00. Match starts promptly after registration. If more than 20 shooters show up we will shoot in relays. RULES- Hearing and eye protection required. Lever action shooters must load and fire one round at a time. AWARDS- Champion – 2nd_ 3rd place. One award for scope class (this award may be mailed). FEES- $20.00. DIRECTIONS- From north or south take the Dequindre exit off of M-59. Go 2 miles north and turn right (east) on Juengel. Rifle range is on the left.

Suggestions: Bring a spotting scope and tripod (preferred) or binoculars (acceptable) Bring your own x-sticks as none will be provided. Bring your own food and drinks. By request cowboy attire is optional.
